This wonderful collection of images of Old Leavening dates from 1900 to the 1970’s. It was compiled over a period of time by Don Howarth who also wrote the historical narrative of the village and has recently given to me a copy of the works of Robert Addison. Don has become the village historian. These images were scanned from photographs and postcards loaned to Don from many sources in and around the village. My thanks go to Don for the donation of these images and his generosity over the years to this website.
The menu below holds all the school group images wherein individuals have been identified. There are other group photographs where as yet no identification is made and even the date is unknown, so for the moment I have included those in the general gallery.
The discovery of Leavening Police House is so exciting that it has it’s own page for the information and its excellent photographs given generously by Jane Bailey descendant of the resident Bobbie.
In the gallery at the bottom are the rest of the village images. Some have already been on this site, but there are many new ones. to see.
