Although none of the major walks in the area are near (The Wolds Way and The Centenary Way are all accessable with a short drive to Thixendale for both or Birdsall for the latter), there are several short walks that can be done. Most combine road and field walking. As villages tend to be fairly close together around here, you can often take in two or three during a  10km walk. The nearest village is (East) Acklam which is around a mile away.

The footpaths that go anywhere in Leavening are surprisingly few, there are three (marked on map with *). There are others which used to serve farms and now have faded away. It is easily possible to make up your own using the OS Explorer 300 map.
